The Art of Curvature in Ceramic Designs

Ceramics have long been a canvas for artistic expression, and one of the most captivating elements in ceramic design is curvature. The interplay of curves not only enhances the aesthetic appeal but also adds a functional dimension to the pieces. Let's delve into the fascinating world of curvature in ceramic designs.

Here we show a 25 minute talk about the ceramic curvatures in especially cups. We talk and demo the throwing and we show different shapes and a few teapot designs :)

Let's show you some little tweaks in the curvatures in lower cups and look what happens with the shapes...

And some tiny changes in the curvature in our higher designed handthrown cups. It is almost like "Find the difference"  :)

But as a thrower for many years (1998) and love a challange, just using my hands and my one size and shaped metal rib feels really good, special and it is and art to get the curvature were i want it to be without any gadgets. 

But if i get an order of 30+ cups in one style of curve i indeed will use some assistance by a homemade designed tool to use  ;)
